Immortal Beauty (2014)
For soprano and 4 recorders
Based on Shakespeare’s masterpiece, sonnet XII
This paper aims to present the process of composition of a piece in which the musical material integrates syntactic
and semantic dimensions of a poetic language. In order to give an outline about the way poetry contribute to the
microstructure and macrostructure of a vocal piece, the piece will be played then analysed in detail.
